The Round Barn Holiday Cottage in Crantock, Cornwall is one of
only five dwellings in the hamlet. It is quiet and private, ideal for
two families or those wishing to celebrate a special event e.g. birthdays,
anniversarys etc, being fully equipped to sleep 10 plus cots.
The Round Barn Holiday Cottage consists of five
bedrooms (four en-suite), kitchen and dining area (6.5m x 5m), a lounge,
a games room, separate WC, integral garage and
laundry area.
Outside the holiday cottage there is further parking
for one large and two medium sized cars. There is a rear garden, front
garden and a separate courtyard area.
The Round
Barn Holiday Cottage in Crantock, Cornwall - History
The Round Barn is so called because prior to 1965 this was a working
farm with upwards of twenty-two employees during busy harvest time.
This particular barn, one of four, was used to grind corn. A donkey
would trot around in the area which is now the hallway and master bedroom
en-suite. Parts of the original mechanism remain today as features.
The Round Barn was sympathetically restored during 1999-2000, retaining
as many of the original features as possible. It is mentioned in the
Domesday Book and possibly parts of the Round Barn date back to the

The fully fitted cottage kitchen includes dishwasher,
fridge, separate freezer, waste disposal and corner larder cupboard.
The dining area comprises farmhouse cottage table
and chairs to seat ten plus high chairs.
The bathrooms have double sized built-in power showers
with separate baths.
The laundry room is situated in the garage and includes
washing machine and double basin and drainers.
Clothes drying lines are provided inside the garage
and outside in the cottage courtyard.
In the games room there is a selection including
dartboard and children’s games.
The garage has an up and over door electrically controlled.
The Round Barn has oil fired central heating (all
inclusive) with double glazing for all year round usage.
